Hello!

Welcome! This is my space to ramble about books, travel, tea and everything in between.

Books I'm looking forward to...

I’m always banging on about books once I’ve read them but I thought it was time to share the ones that I’m looking forward to getting my hands on. Coming out either soon or within the next five or six months, these are the ones that I’ve bookmarked, added to the wish list ready for publication day. So here we go:

  • Notes on a Nervous Planet, Matt Haig
I love Matt Haig’s writing. His book, How to Stop Time is one of my favourites. Though it is his Reasons to Stay Alive that won many of our hearts. If you haven’t read any of Haig’s books then now is the time to start. Notes on a Nervous Planet explores Haig’s own expense with anxiety and a look at how to be happy human in this modern age. Coming out in the next couple of days…

  • Jamie Cooks Italy, Jamie Oliver
Given how much pasta I consume on a weekly basis I knew I had to add this cookbook to the collection. I love everything about Italian food and cooking, the simplicity but decadent flavours are right up my street. Tomatoes and garlic are my two favourite ingredients on this entire planet and I would be lost without these flavours in my life, so I’m looking forward to some new recipes in which I can indulge. There isn’t much more to say on this expect I’m hungry and willing… bring on the pasta!

  • Becoming, Michelle Obama
After reading From the Corner of the Oval Office by Beck Dorey-Stein I’ve become slightly obsessed with the Obamas. They just seem to be the coolest couple ever. So naturally when this book was announced, there was a little squeal and I marked the date in my diary. What will undoubtedly be a truly fascinating memoir full of the most remarkable stories. Bit of a longer wait for this one, out in November. I’m thinking it’s going to be the perfect read for a rainy winter weekend.

  • Normal People, Sally Rooney
Another writer that I adore is Sally Rooney, her first book Conversations With Friends was brilliant and frustrating (I’ve written a long blog post on it) but ultimately a book that made you think and sparked conversations. Everything a book should do. Her new book is all about love, friendship and growing up - I”m very much looking forward to reading it. Out in September.
